Louvella Ivanoff, PHR

With over 15+ years of experience working in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, I’ve had the privilege of working with startups, small and midsize businesses, and companies with more than 5,000 employees. Between high-turnover call centers, high-touch professional services firms, fast-growing retail establishments, and early-stage software development companies, I’ve found myself most fulfilled by helping companies achieve bottom line results by tapping into the full potential of their people.

I’ve loved seeing HR evolve from being a necessary evil to being a vital business partner. There are so many great HR professionals out there. The things that make me stand out among them are:

  • My business acumen - I can get up to speed pretty quickly on the things that are important to you and the impact they have on your business.

  • I’m tech savvy and I aim for lean HR - If you have the money to spend, spend a little on the right technology to manage the admin stuff, then spend the rest taking care of the people who help you make money.

  • I’m an HR geek - I’m a professional learner with an endless curiosity for all things at the intersection of business and people. Multi-state employer (including California) issues and solving for complex situations are fun mental exercises for me.

I hold a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). I am an active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Richmond SHRM chapter. Previously, I was the Legislative Affairs Co-Chair with HR Palm Beach County. I am also an active volunteer with the Richmond SCORE chapter, working closely with SCORE mentors and clients on HR matters in the local small business community.

When I’m not working, I’m probably spending time in nature and trying to explore as much of Virginia as I can.
